Did you know 93% of Canadian women want to change at least one aspect of their physical appearance? Body image is about self-esteem, body esteem, and healthy lifestyles. Research has shown that young people who receive positive support about their health and appearance are less likely to develop body image dissatisfaction or eating disorders.

MEWS Orleans Bengals/Dukes Football Club 2010 Be a Bengal Not a Bully:
Winter Conditioning Program

A primary objective of the Bengals organization is to promote and encourage good sportsmanship and fellowship among all participants to the betterment of the physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being through the teaching and coaching of amateur football and its related skills.

In February 2009, with a grant from the Dare 2 Dream Program, the Bengals launched the “Huddle Up! Bullying Prevention Project. This initiative was designed to give practical peer-mentoring and social networking skills to all of our youth in tackle and non-contact programs. Through a series of on-field exercises, which built trust between players, while offering physical fitness benefits (as well as being fun), our youth learned to support one another and work together for success. These on-field sessions were complemented with in-class discussions from coaches, parents, youth, and guest speakers on the topic of bullying.

Building on last winter’s successes and learning from the challenges, the Bengals are proud to offer the 2010 Be A Bengal Not A Bully: Winter Conditioning Program.

Starting in January 2010 (see attached program schedule), the Pee Wee, Bantam
and Duke levels are invited to FREE sessions, which will focus on
football fundamentals, position drills, and conditioning.

In March and April, the Bengals will be offering FREE Peer-Mentoring Facilitation Workshops (see attached information) to interested returning players. These workshops can be used for your community service hours and are a value of $300 per player. These workshops are being structured specifically for our Bengal players. There are a limited number of spaces for the workshop (loads of space for the indoor training though), so please let us know early if you are interested.

For more information or to let us know you will be there, please contact
Tammy Youssef, Be A Bengal Not A Bully, Program Coordinator at

Happy Holidays! See you on the field.
