Mosquito Division: Bengals out gunned 68-0 by the Canterbury Mustangs.
PeeWee Division: Bengals lose a heartbreaker 24-19 to the above mentioned Mustangs.
Bantam Division: Bengals come up with a huge victory 45-6 over the Canterbury Mustangs.
All in all 2 wins, 2 losses for a very good start to our season. |
Week 2-
We'll start on friday night where our Dukes were in action in their season opener against the Belair Norsemen. Things started off well with a touchdown on their opening drive for an early 7-0 lead. From there though it was all Norsemen, long run after long run they opened up a 31-7 lead by haftime and went on to win 43-7.
On Saturday our Tyke and Mosquito teams were in action against the Raiders of S.G. in our Home Openers. First was the mosquitos, the Raiders attacked with a great ground game and special teams to open a 42-0 halftime lead and went on to win 62-0. Our Tykes were next and they were just over-powered by a larger Raiders team who took advantage of their size for 48-0 win.
Sunday we were hoping for a turnaround, PeeWee Bengals vs the Raiders and it was pretty much the same as the rest of the weekend. The Raiders were fast and strong and seemed prepared for everything. After jumping out to a 28-7 lead, haftime brought us to a 42-14 score. The second half saw the same and the game ended 62-14. Was relief just around the corner, we were 0-4 on the weekend with one game left on the schedule. Bengals...Raiders... clash of the bantams. Yes Bengals fans it happened, justice was served in a 22-15 victory in our final game of the weekend.
1-5 in week 2 hurts a bit, but we had great crowds, good BBQ and good times. Thanks to all who came out to support their teams. Week 3 sees us at home again against the Cornwall Wildcats and our Dukes take on the Stampeders, check the schedule for game times and come support your Myers Orleans Bengals.

Week 3-
What a weekend everyone we went 4-1 with some very dominating performances. This weekends games will now set up nicely for our Homecoming Weekend coming up. On Saturday morning our Mosquitos got us started with a hard fought 24-14 loss, which featured the home side falling behind 24-0 before rallying in the second half to make it close. Next up our Tykes, who were coming off a tough loss to the Raiders last weekend and were looking for a little redemption and they got it. The Wildcats put up a fight but our Bengals came through with a 38-30 victory, great game Tykes.
Sunday kicked off with our PeeWee team also looking for a turnaround from last weekend and wouldn't you know it they did as well. With a 57-30 victory over the Wildcats, this was a total team effort. Our Bantam team freah off our lone victory from last weekend were looking to continue there great so far this season and did as well with a 25-20 victory over the Wildcats.
On the last game on Sunday our Midgets were up against and old foe in the Stampeders (formerly the Mustangs) can you say payback. Last years final was epic being won in the final seconds by the Mustangs on a punt return touchdown. This year just maybe things were going to be different. In their first game last weekend Coach Caz said the team got complacent after their first touchdown, well not today they steamrolled the Stampeders 35-0 to go 1-1 on the season so far.
Thanks for a great weekend everyone, be sure to check the galleries for photos from our games, and thank you for supporting your Myers Orleans Bengals.

Week 4-
Homecoming Weekend was a great success, thank you all our volunteers, fans, players, coaches and sponsors. On the football field we went 3-2 this weekend with some very strong performances.
Saturday morning the Mosquito division started us off against the Giants with a 61-0 loss but fear not Mosquito fans Coach Mclean and his staff will right the ship. Right after that Coach Tedondo's Tyke squad took on those same Giants. Fresh off a hard fought 38-30 victory last weekend the Tykes were looking to extend that winning streak. And they did just that with another hard fought 31-20 victory over the Giants, the win moves them to 3-1 on the season and tied for 2nd in the standings.
Sunday morning we awoke to showers and cold weather with 3 more games on tap. First up, PeeWee division. Also coming off a victory last weekend Coach Prouse was hoping his team could carry the momentum over to this weekend. They did just that with a very convincing 40-0 pasting of the Giants. Domination all over the field, that victory moves them to 2-2 on the season and a tie for 4th in the standings. Also on Sunday our 3-0 Bantam division team was in action, and were hungry to go 4-0. How did they do, just a 46-15 creaming of the Giants that's all. Not bad you say, it was total domination top to bottom, great game guys. The win puts us in a 1st place tie with the Cumberland Panthers.
Once again we close with our Midgets, they too were coming off a victory last weekend but were going to be in tough against the Nepean Redskins. This contest was a defensive struggle for the better part of the game with both teams trying to find their offensive games. In the end the Redskins won 14-0 on a cold, wet Sunday afternoon but the Bengals will have their chance at redemption in a couple of weeks. With the loss they move to 1-2 on the season tied for 3rd in the standings.
The galleries will be updated later this week with photos from the weekend also check the home page out for information on how you can get a copy of "The Year in Review" book, also thanks once again to all of our sponsors, volunteers, fans and last but not least we should all give some huge applause and thank you's to our junior and senior Cheerleaders who come rain or shine are there to cheer on our Bengals. Great show girls and thank you.
We are on the road now for a couple of weekends but be sure to get out a support our teams, Let's Go Bengals. |
Week 5-
What are start, our Midget Bengals absolutely destroyed the Ottawa Colts last night 29-0, it was total domination, details to come you'll want to read what happened.
O.k. here we go. First up our Midget squad was taking on the Ottawa Colts in hostile territory. Did our team flinch, not a chance, they handed the Colts a loss in their house to the tune of 29-0. The win was spearheaded by an Offensive line hell-bent on running over their defensive line, they made holes and Nicolas Rasiulis hit them hard. With an incredible display of power and determination Nicolas ran for 247 yards with 2 touchdowns and ended the night with over 280 all purpose yards, one word "AMAZING". Also helping out was Eric Hardy who had a 40 yard touchdown reception on a absolutely heart stopping catch and run completion. The defence held the fort on their end with some monster hits, (how's your head Frank?), as well as a couple of timely interceptions. As Coach Caz said "that's more like it", I agree coach.
Saturday morning had our Mosquito and Tyke teams in action against the Bel-Air Copeland Lions. Perfect day for football and both teams put up great performances. Our Mosquito team played their best game of the season in a 34-0 loss which sounds worse than it was. The defence played very well and you can see improvements on both sides of the ball. Coach McLean said that elusive first win is just around the corner. Coach Tedondo's Tykes were up next, and once again they did not disappoint. Victor and his staff have this team firing on all cylinders and they really are a team from top to bottom. In a hard fought battle we came out on top 34-20, congrats Coach, great job again. Hey someone from the Tyke team has a special photo I think on www.bobrowsellphotography.com, I wonder who???
Saturday evening, had a good vibe going into this. PeeWee and Bantam contests. First up Coach Prouse and his group of battle ready warriors, was there a chance they could lose, I DON'T THINK SO!!! They came out flying high again. The Orleans Bengals Peewees rolled to their third consecutive victory as they defeated the Bel-Air Lions 48-0 under the lights at Minto Field. The Bengals exploded early, as quarterback Michael O'Connor found slotback Quinton Soares for a 64 yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. Other Bengal touchdowns were scored by running backs Graham McArthur and Rashari-Somerville Henry, Receiver Keenan Pierre, and Linebacker Cody Barry on a long punt return. Defensive standouts were linebacker Paul Hastings and defensive tackle Martin Prouse, who each had numerous quarterback sacks and tackles in the backfield. The finale had our Bantam team featuring #7 Taren Johnson and #35 Darwin Campbell. Both played prominant roles in previous games and tonight was no different. Darwin had a fantastic touchdown (see photos) on the galleries page, where he pretty much ran through the entire defence. We pretty much put this game on cruise control for a 41-6 victory to put us at a perfect 5-0 on the season.
All in all a fantastic weekend for our Bengals, 4-1 again and I can feel a perfect 5-0 coming soon. Thanks again to all our fans who made the trip out to the Sportsplex, as well as to our Cheerleaders, great show again girls, thanks.
Next week "Road Warriors" part 2, check out the website for the new poster for next weeks games, coming out on Monday. |
Good Morning Everyone,
Week 6-
Another week and another 4-1 weekend, Go Bengals.
Coach Tedondo's Tyke squad got us started this week against the Ottawa Generals down at Robinson Field and as we've become accustomed to they did not disappoint. Our Tykes owned the ball so to speak and with a dominating defence and high octane offence the Generals were no match for us this weekend and the team cruised to a 37-6 victory. With this victory our Tyke's are tied for 2nd in the division with a record of 5-1 with the Brockville Bucanneers on tap this weekend.
Next up Coach McLean and his very young Mosquito squad. Once again we were down at Robinson field taking on the Generals and again it was another tough one for our Mosquitos, falling behind early on a couple of mistakes made the game a difficult one and the Generals went on to win 46-0. They will be back at this weekend at 11am against the Brockville Bucanneers.
Sunday featured 2 of the hottest teams in the entire league, our PeeWee and Bantam teams. On the menu were the Ottawa Generals. The PeeWee squad hit the field at 12 noon and had the house rockin' within the first 5 minutes and jumped out to an early lead that they would not give up. Every player on defence seemed to be in on every tackle and the offence led by Michael O'Connor and Graham McArthur and the whole offensive line could have moved small countries all day long. With their 44-0 victory they move to 4-2 on the season with a huge test coming up this weekend against the 5-1 Nepean Redskins.
In the late game on Sunday our Bantam team was in action against the Ottawa Generals and here's what Coach Murphy had to say. It wasn't always pretty, but the team found a way. The first half seemed to have the offence driving the field, but having trouble cashing in some points. The defence held strong and gave the Colts hard time all day. The defensive backfield was flying all over the field including interceptions from Denis McGrath and Justin Ryan. A big fumble recovery close to the goal line by Scott Van Steinburg gave the team some great turnovers. The defence was making plays in the backfield all day. The offensive line gave Julien Dasilva the time to deliver a beautiful pass right down the middle of the field to Taren Johnson. That touchdown and field goal from Dimitri Pronko game the offence its points in the first half of the game. The running backs continued to run hard including a big score off tackle in the fourth quarter by Anthony Oliveira. A late onside kick recovery by Lyman Beattie gave the team the chance to finish up the game. Thanks coach.
Last but not least, the Midgets Bengals, coming off a huge game against the Colts, could they keep it going against the Bel-Air Norsemen at Garneau? With Nicolas Rasiulis and Eric Hardy both coming off extremely good games they would hard pressed to lose at home. With a sloppy, rained out field in front of them the game began. This was a close one all game long and at times was a very chippy affair with some Norsemen taking liberties with our players, late hits, knee shots etc. With the game close in the 3rd quarter a knee shot took out Nic Rasiulis and Charly Marseille was already playing hurt which left the backfield a little thin but fear not fans of the running game, enter Marc "The A-Train" Cazabon. The "Train" just started running through Norsemen, literally, it was something to watch. There was no going around it was straight ahead, smash mouth football at its best. Also with some timely interceptions on defence, they pulled off a hard fought 28-21 win. Just for the way he ran in the second half The "Train" got my gameball, thanks Caz that was fun.
That's it for this week, hope you all enjoyed it and who knows is this the week we go 5-0........
The featured player on www.bobrowsellphotography.com came from our Mosquito squad, so go check it out and congratulations........

Good Morning everyone,
Week 7-
This was our last home-weekend this season and all our teams were at home except the Midgets who were on the road against the Nepean Redskins.
Where to start....this was a tough weekend for our Bengals where we went 1-4 as a whole with our lone victory coming from Coach Prouse and his PeeWee squad. All of the games were very competitive but the Brockville Bucanneers and the Nepean Redskins were too much for us this weekend.
Here's a run down of all the scores from this weekend.
Tyke Division lost 33-19, this game was close all the way through.
Mosquito Division lost 37-0, again very competitive.
PeeWee Division won 37-6, cruised the whole game.
Bantam Division lost 17-7, here's what Coach Murphy had to say- "During the first half the offence seemed to drive the field with no problem. Penalties and turnovers left the team without a score at the end of the first half. The defence didn't allow the Redskins to move the ball all half. With three minutes on the clock the Nepean Redskins found a way to get a touchdown. The fourth quarter brought a sense of urgency to the Bengals and they delivered an impressive late drive. Unfortunately time was against them and the Redskins took the victory".
Midget Division lost 28-0, close game all the way through.
Next week we'll be sure to get a game report from all the teams, time constraints left me a little short this weekend. Thanks for your understanding.
The featured player on www.bobrowsellphotography.com came from our PeeWee squad, so go check it out and congratulations........
