BENGALS FOOTBALL

Our Club vision is:

"To be recognized as the best sports program within our community for developing successful, positive, and confident boys and girls, enhancing their health and well-being while maintaining a Winning Attitude(W.I.N.) that contributes to the growth of the sport of football."

We are en route to bring this vision to life, however, we have to be willing to adapt, make changes, and challenge the status quo. We are not a fan of "If it ain't broke don't fix it" philosophy. We see this as a recipe for mediocrity. Rather, the Bengals will adopt the "KAIZEN" philosophy, the need for constant improvement. If we truly want to help young men and women in our community become the best they can be, then we too as an organization have to challenge ourselves to do the same.

NASA does not use the word "mistake". Rather, they just refer to "early attempts at success". Last year we had some definite successes, such as the completion of a successful Trillium grant, the long needed replacement of the clubhouse roof, the launch of our Dare 2 Dream program, and the strengthening of business partnerships such as our title sponsorship with Myers East, formerly known as Mews Chevrolet.

These achievements will put our club on a more solid footing for years to come. At the top of the priority list for this 2010 season and moving forward we have identified some key priorities for the next 11 months:

1.Recruiting

Recruiting has fallen down in recent years, and low numbers have hurt different teams within the Bengals. We will move forward with a solid, tangible plan for recruiting, and an accompaning plan to raise the profile of the club in the community. We have a great deal to offer young people in Orleans, but we have not done a very good job of selling ourselves in recent years.

2.Training

We will facilitate the knowledge sharing between our coaches, and give them the training they need to succeed. This will also help create a level of consistancy throughout the organization that has been missing in recent years. Developing standard processes, a "Bengal way", will also help us with the retention of volunteers, and the inevitable transition of volunteers as players and cheerleaders move up through the organization.

3.Community Partnerships

Our title sponsorship with Myers East (formerly MEWS) is a great start, but there are many more partnerships that we can form in the community to help us both raise funds, and raise the profile of the club. As Club President, I will be available to serve all levels of the Club, and be focused on the key priorities as outlined above. I am blessed to have a great team willing to serve with me. Between Randy Bellini-VP Operations, Dennis Prouse-VP Admnistration, Marie Curry-Treasurer, and Bill Curry as our Past President, we have an unbelievable force of experience in minor football. Their presence on the Bengals executive will strengthen our team greatly. This is going to be a great year and a start of great things for the Bengals!

Yours in football,

Michael "Chilli" Johnson

President
